“Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you shining stars.” Psalm 148:3
Through my searching for God’s best in my life, one question has brought me to my knees: What is devotion to God? Jesus is a name I’ve always known. I first heard it from my father’s mouth when he prayed before meals, and my mom would mention God when she taught my brothers and me to read. The cartoon Bible stories always put a seal on the deal. It wasn’t until I was a teenager that I realized the depth of my need for the salvation I had so heartily accepted as a child.
I was home schooled all through elementary and high school and now study communications. I hope to glorify God as I communicate His truths to the world through writing, film, photography, and other forms of art. We were made to devote ourselves to our Maker, reflecting Him like the moon reflects the sun. Our whole being is made for His pleasure. I pray that He would reveal His thoughts to us as we seek out His wisdom, transforming our world into one that glorifies Him through our love for one another.
