Freshman year….first weekend…and orientation for Sterling College was in full swing. I pull up to the “Mandatory Pool Party” for all new students. I knew NO ONE. I was walking alongside the pool and decided to put my feet in the pool. I was overwhelmed with all it, new place 4 hours away from home and I honestly felt alone. While I was flooded with all this Jon, who was in the pool, comes up to me and goes, “freshman?” It probably wasn’t hard to point that out taking that I was sitting looking like a lost pup. We struck a conversation and he asked if I would write for 10:31 on my freshman journey. I had never liked writing in high school and so my initial thought was, “heck no” but what came out of my mouth was, “I would love to!” I was shocked myself that I accepted it, but I realized it was a total God thing. All these experiences I wanted to share, I now could. Not only that, but I fell in love with writing. I look back at all my stories, everything that has happened since I started to write. It has been 3 years since I started writing and I thank 10:31 for giving me this outlet to get my thoughts out and I hope someone laughed or was touched by what I wrote. If it wasn’t for Jon and his ministry and him allowing me to write for 10:31 I would not have found a passion for writing. I also thank God for giving me an opportunity to write what He put on my heart. So I love you all 10:31 readers, and I love you Jon. Thank you for all the hours and long nights you put into this website and made it into a great ministry.
