Pennies and Nickels and Dimes! Oh My!

DaretoBelieve

Change… something that many people don’t really care for. You can literally find loose change anywhere, and not many care to pick it up. Sometimes I’ve even seen it where someone will drop some change at the store, and they just look at it and walk away. Why don’t we really care for change? I’m no longer talking about money here. What I mean is why does change scare the living daylights out of everyone?

I don’t know about you, but my whole world is about to go through the tumble cycle of a dryer. I just finished my junior year of college, my roommate is graduating, I’m moving to Kansas officially, and I’m getting married in June (which has its own level of change)! My life will never be the same, and I am scared out of my wits!

To speak to my fear of change I look to Joshua 1:9 which reads, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Too speak to the change in general I look to Ecclesiastes 3:1 which reads, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”

Change is scary and unpleasant, but it is a part of life and always will be. Bodies change, jobs change, roles in life change, and other people change. It’s how God created us. Might I encourage and dare you that whatever change you are going through right now, or are about to embark on, that you hold tight to the Lord for He knows what is ahead of you and will be with you always. So stop avoiding the change and just let it happen! (And pick up that change that is on the ground! You might just find enough to go get a cone at McDonalds! :D) So will you take the dare? Will you believe?
