With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it is natural for us to reminisce on the blessings of the year. We tend to think of the tangible things God has blessed us with, such as a bed and plentiful food. The close, loving bonds we have with our friends and family also cause us to give thanks. But these are not the only things to be thankful for as followers of Christ.
1 Chronicles 16:34 (ESV):
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever!
As believers, we are so thankful to God for the unconditional, constant love He bestows on His children. He loved us so much that He sent Jesus to die for our sins. John 3:16 (ESV):
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
I am so thankful for Jesus’ death and resurrection, for the relationship He has called me to have with Him!
This Thanksgiving, in the midst of the holiday traditions and celebrations, I challenge you to slip away and write a letter of thanks to the Lord.
